Fill the gap helps re-create smoothness and conceal imperfections, leaving nails feeling stronger and hydrated.Īpricot Cuticle Oil – We thought about saving the best for last, but we don’t think this product is much of a secret. If you notice your ridges through your regular polish we insist you give this a try!įill The Gap Treatment – Caring for your nails with any treatment is recommended, however if you have problems with ridges we suggest you give this one a try. This base coat significantly smooths and resurfaces nails leaving them looking younger. Ridge Filling Base Coat – If you have ridges on your nails they will always show through your nail polish, no matter how great of a base coat you use…unless you’re using this one. Since then we’ve found a significant difference in the strength of our nails and would definitely recommend this as an addition to your regular nail treatments. We used this on a day that we didn’t have time to paint our tips (oops!) and we actually got compliments on our nails! Seriously, when does that ever happen? This treatment leaves a great shine and hydrates your nails like nothing else. Millionails Treatment – On the box of this treatment it claims to build strength and resist peeling and splitting for visibly stronger nails. If you have trouble with weak nails and they can’t take multiple polish coats this might be the base coat for you. We used this under a nail art application and found that our polish lasted longer than usual. Grow Stronger Base Coat – This base coat does more than provide a smooth surface for you nails, it also helps fortify your nails and reduce breakage with it’s vitamin E, Gingko Biloba and mineral strengtheners. If you have problems with chipping polish this top coat is worth a try! Although we didn’t find it to dry as fast or give us as much shine as our regular top coat, we loved the thinness of it and how long it made our manicure last! This top coat prevents your nails from chipping and peeling and also helps protect your colour against fading. No Chips Ahead Top Coat – Although it was kinda hard to stray away from our Seche Vite, we’ve been using no chips ahead this past week as our top coat. We’ve sectioned their nail care line out by nail type to make it easier to decide which treatment or polish will work for you.

We’ve got good news though! Whether your nails are hard to grow, thin & split, have distinct ridges in them or are completely healthy Essie offers a tailor-made professional nail care line that can be completely personalized to your regimen. Essie Weingarten said it best herself – “the Perfect manicure starts with the perfect nails” and we could not agree more! Truth is that there are 4 major nail types, so not all nail care systems will work for you. We never thought caring for our nails could be as much fun as painting them an outrageous colour, but Essie has proved us otherwise. Not on the tips, on the nail beds themselves. Some of you may know that over the last few weeks we’ve been playing around with the entire Essie Nail Care line.

I removed my polish and noticed chips in the nail bed. I am ecstatic since I gave my toenails a break yesterday. I was milling around the beauty section looking at all the 50% off stickers when I happened upon the smaller Essie display near the back. Was it being discontinued? My relationship with Fill the Gap ended suddenly and without proper goodbyes. I went to the internet and was no longer available on the Essie website. Probably the only nail product I have ever fully finished.

I loved this product through two full bottles. The best part? While I may not notice any long term effects, in the short term my nails break less frequently and are in general better health. I always wear toe nail polish but when I want to give my toes a break, I wear this as my “naked” nails and it makes my feet look taken care of without being completely disrobed. The main purpose of this base coat is as a ridge filler but it also provides wonderful adherence for any future polishes. GORGEOUS! It has thick coverage with a thin consistency and makes my nail beds look perfect. I love Nail Foundation, do not get me wrong, but it gets thick and gummy around the halfway mark which for the price is a ridiculous waste of money. The description “it helps re-create smoothness, crucial to youthful looking nails…visibly sculpts and plumbs nail base…stronger feeling and hydrated nails…helps prevent brittleness and breakage” mimicked butter London Nail Foundation on a more modest budget. When I first started on my nail adventures I bought Essie Fill the Gap on a whim.

Okay, not exactly but I am more than thrilled right now!
